Unearthing the metaphoric roots of the conflict, Harmonia is a modern adaptation of the biblical love triangle between the childless Abraham and Sarah and the young Hagar. Sarah, a harpist in a Jerusalem-based orchestra, is married to Abraham (Alon Aboutboul), the charismatic conductor. When Hagar, a young horn player, joins the orchestra, a friendship develops between the two women. Hagar, sympathizing with Sarah’s pain, offers to have a baby for her.

Ori Sivan new film ‘Harmonia’, screening this days in film festivals around the world, is a biblical adaptation to the story of Sarah, Abraham, Hagar, Yitzhak and Ismail from the book of Genesis, set in a world of a philharmonic orchestra in present Jerusalem.
Sarah, the morose harpist of the Jerusalem Philharmonic Orchestra, is married to Abraham, the almighty conductor. They have no children. When Hagar, a young horn player from East Jerusalem joins the Western Side Orchestra, Sarah’s world erupts. The unique friendship evolves when Hagar offers Sarah to have a baby for her from Abraham. The well-known biblical story of the 2 sons, that metaphorically represents the roots of the conflict between the 2 peoples, receives a new and emotional perspective.
Harmonia, featuring: Alon Abutbul as Abraham, Tali Sharon as Sarah, יאנהיוסף – Yana Yossef as Hagar and Ali Suliman – عليسليمان Daod

“È dunque così che vivono gli uomini: …….cercano negli altri uno strumento per coprire la propria voce interiore. Se ascoltassimo solo un po’ di più questa voce, se provassimo solo a farne risuonare una dentro di noi, quanto meno caos ci sarebbe.”
